Benefits

At NTT Multimedia Communications Laboratories, Inc., the health and well being of our employees and their families is important to us. It is this reason why we offer our employees a comprehensive benefits package that will meet their needs. The summary below gives an overview of the available benefits.

Benefits are available to regular, full time employees working 35 or more hours per week. Employees are eligible for benefits [excluding 401(k) plan] on the first day of the month after the date of hire. Eligibility for the 401(k) plan is 90 days after date of hire.

Medical

Health Net PPO Plan

This plan allows employees the option of using providers in or out of the PPO network.  If using a provider in the network, benefit coverage is at 90% after meeting the annual deductible (currently is $0). Office visits are 100% paid after a $10 co-pay.  If using a provider out of network, benefit coverage is 60% after meeting the annual deductible. ($500 member, $1000 family)

Health Net HMO Plan

Under this plan, employees have to select a physician listed in the Health Net directory.  Office and hospital visits are 100% covered after a $10 co-pay (emergency room is a $100 co-pay) and there is no annual out of pocket deductible.

Both the PPO and HMO plans have prescription drug benefits.

Dental

Principal Financial Group

This Plan enables employees to go to any dental provider listed in the PPO directory to receive care.  The annual maximum benefit is $2,000 per person.  Preventive service is covered 100% with no deductible.  Basic Service covers 90% and Major Service covers 50% after the annual deductible has been paid.  The deductible is $50/individual and $150/family.

Vision

Vision Service Plan

Employees may receive care from any provider listed in the VSP directory.  Full coverage (after $10 co-pay) includes vision exam every 12 months and lenses and frames every 24 months.  Contact lens services can be used in lieu of lens and frames services and would be covered in full (after VSP authorization).  A second pair of lenses/frames can be purchased for $20 every 24 months.

Life/AD&D Insurance

Reliance Standard

Life insurance is provided to MCL employees at two times their annual salary to a maximum of $175,000.  Accidental Death and Dismemberment is also provided at two times their annual salary to a maximum of $175,000 if death or dismemberment is the result of an accident.

Short-Term Disability

Reliance Standard

If an employee is unable to work due to illness or injury, short-term disability will cover 66 2/3% of salary up to $2,350 per week for 12 weeks.  Benefits begin after a eight-day qualifying period.

Long-Term Disability

Reliance Standard

If an employee is unable to work due to illness or injury, long-term disability benefits begin after the 90-day short-term disability has ended.  Long-term disability will cover 66 2/3% of base monthly earnings to a monthly maximum of $10,000.

401(k) Plan

Select Benefit with Union Bank of California

Employees are eligible to participate in NTT MCL's 401(k) plan after 90 days of service.  Employees may contribute up to 40% of their salary on a pre-tax basis per calendar year.  NTT MCL, Inc. will match dollar for dollar at a maximum of 8% of salary.  The maximum amount that an employee can contribute for each calendar year is regulated by the IRS.

Vacation

Full time and part time employees will begin accruing vacation time the first of the month following the date of hire.  An employee's "vacation year" is the year starting from the date of hire.

Sick and Personal Days

All full time regular employees are entitled to seven (7) days of sick leave and two (2) days of personal leave per year.

Tuition Reimbursement

NTT MCL, Inc. offers tuition reimbursement for job-related courses to all full time employees. Employees will be reimbursed 75% of tuition and laboratory fees to an annual maximum limit of $3,000.

Flexible Work Hours/Telecommuting/San Jose Satelite Office

NTT MCL, Inc. offers our employees Flexible Work Hours. Employees may arrive and leave within specified times designated by the company. Also, employees are eligible to telecommute one day per week or work out of our San Jose satellite office. This allows employees the flexibility to manage work/life demands.
